For thousands of years nature has been used for textile dyeing. Junk journal artists also used tea, coffee, onion skins, walnuts or avocado skins to dye papers. There are also eco dyeing techniques where you put leaves between paper, roll it then boil it. There’s no reason not to use the colorful flowers around us.
I dyed these papers using the flowers growing in my front yard and neighborhood - roses, daffodils, golden daisies and rock purslane. I shared how I did this in my short tutorial.
