East Coast Saga Flips Flaps Album

This is another album I made for my father-in-law with no pockets, tricky or fancy elements. Only flipping flaps. The closest element to a fancy one is waterfall. Because there is no pocket whatsoever in this album, I decided to call this type of album a "Flips Flaps Album". This is not my first "Flips Flaps Album". Cutie's 1st Year Baby Album (Grandpa Version), is my first "Flips Flaps Album".

I believe I will make a good number of "Flips Flaps Album" in future. My father-in-law might be able to handle scrapbook album with pockets or fancy elements. But, not my mother-in-law. I made her a simple pocket album awhile ago and she didn't notice that one side of the album is an accordion page until I showed it to her couple months later. LOL.
Anyhow, I made this album for to document Cutie's first big trip to east coast last summer to visit my husband's family for the first time - mainly grandaunt and great grandfathers. It was a big trip for then-9-months-old Cutie. We took her to Philadelphia, Washington DC, Annapolis, North Carolina, Georgia, and finally Florida. This album focused more on the last part of the trip - Florida when Cutie spent more than a week with her grandfather.

I wanted to reuse Amazon product box for the album box. The container size of the box was 8 3/4" x 9 1/4" and the depth is 1 1/2". Thus, I made my album 7 3/4" x 8" x 1 1/4" with only 4 signatures. I used only 1/4" gusset and kept the decoration minimum so the album would fit the box. The paper pad I used was Recollection's Peaceful Breeze.

Without further ado, this is the East Coast Saga Flips Flaps Album.

Happy Crafting,
