2019 Chinese New Year Cards

2019 Chinese New Year cards this year is really a further step forward, I used embossing folder, twine, stamps (finally!!!), and ribbon. I got the piggy stamp from AliExpress. The Chinese New Year greetings were the one leftover from last year. I still didn't find stamps for the Chinese New Year greeting I usually use. I guess I will stick with my printer. It's also faster to make because I just need to press the print button and cut it with my Fiskar cutting tool. I found the greeting on the left picture on internet, cleaned it up with Photoshop and printed. I used these cards for my family who can't read Chinese but still love to receive my yearly Chinese New Year cards.

Talking about sending family Chinese New Year cards, now I knew why there were no Chinese New Year stamps even on AliExpress. It's not a thing for Chinese families to send Chinese New Year cards - at least not for the Chinese families from China. Well, I had never been to China so I didn't know if they sell Chinese New Year cards like in Taiwan.

Recently I took my 14 m.o DD to nearby park every sunny day. There were mostly Chinese grandparents in the park (like 95%). We made couple friends and just few days ago, I took courage to ask one of them if she would like to send Chinese New Year cards to her family. I made extras and I would love to have it used up this year so I could create a new design next year. She asked me if she could see the cards so I brought it there. I showed it to other grandparents as well but.. they gave this kind of "what is Chinese New Year cards". I guess... it's only me and the Taiwanese things~~~

Happy Crafting,
Sherls
