Organizing clothes

I like to hang my clothes. My husband, in the other hand, wants to be able to see them all at one glance. The first  time I visited his apartment, he had his clothes laid down on the floor. He said that's the only way he could see them all at a glance. Indeed, that's true. If you stacked them in a drawer, you can only see the top cloth. If you hang it on the closet, you need to 'turn' them one by one to find the one you want.

Back in Taiwan I used to fold my clothes vertically inside my drawer. So I did the same with his. He could accept the way I folded his clothes. He said it's easy to see and to find the one he want. So for our new apartment in Old Ranch, I want to do the same.

Previously, I mentioned that I bought plastic drawers for his clothes (post link). I folded them nicely inside the drawers and label them to make it easier for him to find his clothes (post about label). This is how it looks like:

Trousers

This folding way is really neat. The only problem I see with this is when the clothes are almost empty. When the clothes are nicely packed, each cloth can stand nicely. When it's almost empty, however, they will collapse. =( I am still thinking of a way to solve this problem. Later if I find a solution for this, I will share it with you.

When it's almost empty
Back in Salt Lake City I folded them without any help. I had no problem with folding the clothes without any tool. My only problem was it's hard to fold the clothes into the same size to keep it looking tidy in the drawer. For that purpose, I got myself an "Easy Folder". The very first time I saw it was few years ago when I was still living in Taiwan. I love the idea of folding your clothes in same size. It makes clothes easy to manage. Back in Taiwan, I didn't buy myself one. Instead, I made myself one from a cosmetic set box. When I moved to US, I threw it away and thought I could make myself one here. Sadly, I never did. I never had the similar box as I had in Taiwan which later I changed it into my own easy folder. So, this May when I went home to Asia with my then-just-married husband, I bought myself one. Later after I came back to US, I realized that I could also bought it online through Amazon. Just  recently I realized that I could make one with cardboard. I will try making one next time and I will post how I make it.

As I mentioned before, I only use Easy Folder to help me fold the T-shirts into the same size. For the trousers, I folded it into half then a third.

And for the t-shirt, I use the Easy Folder. It's easier to show the process with pictures than words. So, there it is:

For long sleeve t-shirts, I folded the sleeves in toward the other sleeve.
